Michael's "Filled" Bread

This is a kind of bread that Michael made (taught to us by Anne Clark) that has olives, cheese, and carmelized onions baked into it. It is SO delicious. He's made a bunch of loaves since this first one...and it's been a hit everywhere we've taken it. People are even suggestion Michael should make some to sell! It's so yummy and flavorful, it's practically a meal all on its own.

Butterflies on the way to San Luis

This past weekend Michael and I took a long hike down the mountain to the little tiny, tiny village of San Luis. (Very tiny. One store and a few houses). It's a nice long hike- about 10 miles round trip, most likely. Here's a picture of some pretty butterflies we saw along the way.

Michael and Rebekah Have Fun With Animals

If before we lived in the monkey house, now we live in the Everyone's Dog or Other Domesticated Animal house. We have several dog visitors a day- Crystal runs away from Gina's house and ends up here, as do Chispa and Juan's dog and Liah Denise's dog...anyway, they all end up here, eventually. And typically they don't mind each others company...although Crystal and Chispa like to try and kill each other, occasionally.
Perhaps the oddest local animal visit came the other day when Tayna's two horses escaped from the carral and ended up right in front of our house. They stood there for a long time, and then decided to kick our water tank and knock the piping out of thereby cutting off our water supply. ( I know, of course, that horses do not make these sorts of conscious decisions. But, anyway, they DID cut off the water supply, regardless of their intent).
Here's a picture of them through the living room window.
